Goal

Replace endless listing scrolls with a platform that understands people first: their lifestyle, priorities, and timing, then curates homes that genuinely fit, before a single listing is shown.

Understanding the process

Searching for a home abroad is overwhelming by default: hundreds of listings, language barriers, and having to explain your situation over and over to different agencies. Domior flips that order. Every design decision started from the same question: what does a person need to feel understood before they ever see a property?

That meant designing a structured onboarding across seven areas of someone's life, daily routine, comfort zone, priorities, timing, and more, so Dom (the platform's AI guide) could curate a first selection that actually reflected them. On the other side, agencies needed a completely different experience: a lead page built to let them understand a client's fit in seconds, not scroll through a lengthy form.

target user groups

Domior serves two very different user types on either side of the same journey: people searching for a home, and the agencies who help them find one.

International Home Seeker

Moving to Spain from abroad, often without fluent Spanish or local market knowledge. Needs to be understood once, not repeat their situation to every agency, and wants curated homes that genuinely fit their life, not hundreds of listings to sort through alone.

Real Estate Agency

Receives leads from Domior and needs to understand a client's fit fast, in seconds, not minutes. Needs clear context on the client's lifestyle, preferences, and behavior before deciding whether to reach out.

Returning Home Seeker

Already mid-journey, reviewing daily curated selections, tracking conversations with agencies, and refining preferences over time. Needs a clear sense of progress and the ability to revisit or adjust their journey without starting over.

process

From onboarding logic to full product design, the process turned a complex, deeply personal search into a structured, guided journey, one that had to work for both home seekers and the agencies serving them.

Research & Strategy
  • Translated a detailed product blueprint into structured flows, screens, and interaction logic.

  • Mapped the full journey end-to-end, from discovery to onboarding, curation, agency contact, and ongoing journey management.

  • Framed the core challenge: help people feel genuinely understood before they see a single listing.

Design & Iteration
  • Designed the complete onboarding flow across seven life dimensions, daily routine, comfort zone, priorities, timing, and more.

  • Built curation, property, and reflection screens around a personal, guided tone rather than a typical listing browse.

  • Iterated across multiple feedback rounds with the founder, refining tone, hierarchy, and interaction details screen by screen.

Full Product Coverage
  • Designed the agency-facing Lead Page, built to let agencies understand a client's fit in seconds.

  • Extended the system to institutional pages: About, Contact, legal pages, and a state-aware 404.

  • Delivered a cohesive design system across the full product, from onboarding to email templates, ready for a September 2026 launch.

HIGHLIGHTS

From onboarding logic to full product design, the process turned a complex, deeply personal search into a structured, guided journey, one that had to work for both home seekers and the agencies serving them.

Guided Onboarding

A structured, conversational onboarding that gets to know someone's life first, their routine, priorities, and comfort zone, before ever showing them a home.

Dom, the AI Companion

An AI guide that explains its own reasoning, not just a recommendation engine. Every curated home comes with a "why," building trust instead of asking users to take it on faith.

Agency Lead Page

A single view built for speed: agencies see everything they need to know about a client's fit and decide whether to reach out, without digging through a long form.

One System, Every Page

From onboarding to legal pages to a 404, every screen shares the same visual language and tone, so the product feels considered end to end, not stitched together.

CHALLENGES

Designing for two very different users at once, home seekers who needed warmth and guidance, and agencies who needed speed and clarity, all before the product had any track record to lean on.

Two very different users, one product

Home seekers need warmth and guidance. Agencies need speed and clarity. Designing a system that felt right to both, without compromising either experience, shaped nearly every decision.

Making AI feel like a companion, not a tool

Most AI-powered products default to a chat box or a black-box algorithm. Domior needed Dom to feel present and trustworthy throughout the journey, without ever feeling gimmicky or overexplained.

Designing for trust before proof

Users are asked to share deeply personal information (their lifestyle, budget, timing) before seeing any results. Earning that trust upfront, with no track record yet to lean on, was one of the hardest parts of the design.
